- In January, she came in 3rd on The Harris Poll’s list of favorite TV personalities. And point of fact, she was #1 in the eyes of Democrats, Gen X-ers, Easterners, married women and women in general. So, considering that I fall into all *5* of these groups, imagine the extent of my love.
- In June, Ellen was named on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 (at 40th – so not too shabby).
- In July, she came in 4th on Forbes’ Most Influential Women in Media (in part due to her earnings and successful talk show, but mostly due to her giant-eneres social media following).
- And in September (this week actually), the ultimate honor… Ellen was named the newest judge on American Idol…. representing the “people’s point of view.”
Coincidence that The Harris Poll started this swing of good luck?…I vote no.
And anecdotally (as in around the coffee maker in our office), I hear that the public is split about this latest move by Fox. What do you think about having the seasoned comedienne and talk show host (+) but no formal musical training (-) as American Idol’s newest arbiter of talent. Good, bad, indifferent?
